Kasbah Bab Ourika was undoubtedly the highlight of the trip, a superb Villa perched high above the Ourika Valley run with a gentle informality by Stephen and his partner. The rooms with their wood fires were fantastic and the views both during the day and at night were magical (Iíve never seen so many stars in the Northern Hemisphere!). The food was also first class.
I would certainly stay again at this wonderful hotel perhaps combining a couple of days in Marrakech with 2/3 days in the mountains doing some trekking etc. Whilst we did not, actually stay at Tamadot, so I cannot comment on the quality of the hotel experience, I found the setting and the relaxed atmosphere at Ourika to be superb and would strongly recommend it to any of your clients.
CHRISTMAS 2009
My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights prior to a business commitment in Marrakesh - it is just simply wonderful, relaxing, all the rooms have wonderful views, the staff always have a smile on their faces and quite obviously keen to make the kasbah a success since it is so new. The food is delicious and the whole experience is just one of contentment in a very beautiful location only 40 mins from Marrakech. It is also extremely good value for the standard of accommodation and service one gets. Go now before the secret gets out!!!
NOVEMBER 2009
I have just returned from Bab Ourika and it was one of the most stunning places I have stayed in. The surrounding area is a Berber town and a valley but once you reach the Kasbah it is a completely different world. The kasbah itself overlooks the Atlas mountains and the view is the most amazing ever. The property is very well designed - the house itself is stunning and the interior is immaculate. The pool area is great as you lie on the bed overlooking the mountain tops. The room we had (standard) had a fireplace which was lit at night and stunning views over the mountains. The food was really good and quite reasonable. I would highly recommend this Kasbah - it was such a treat and in such a relaxing location.
NOVEMBER 2009
We stayed for only one night sadly with a group of friends. Was great. Would have loved to have spent longer. Had a large double room with walk in storage and out door shower. Views fantastic. Good food. Relaxed by the pool and absorbed the atmosphere. Great hotel would recommend.
OCTOBER 2009
For those, like me, that spend days searching the internet and discussing with partners where to stay your search may have become easier. The Kasbah Bab Ourika is bliss. The service is impeccable, the hospitality shown by the staff, management and owner is genuine and warm, the rooms spacious and clean, the views are outstanding and the food is glorious. August was hot but with a lovely breeze and the nights warm but not enough to deny a good nightís sleep. Itís very peaceful, particularly at night. We stayed for 7 nights with the aim of purely relaxing. Yet if you want to (and we did), there are many activities such as several treks with guide, visiting the 7 waterfalls, day trip into Marrakech, local markets to name a few. Weíll hopefully be back and possibly in the winter months to try the skiing and white water rafting.
